CHAPTER 2: IDENTIFYING COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE

Hmm minggu ni sepatutnya sis teruja sebab nak cuti midsem dah ..tapi lain pulak rasa nga keje bertimbun..banyak pulak assignment buat...pendek kata cuti midsem ni pun xmampu la g memana kena siapkan assignment sebab naik cuti je nak kena hantar...mood nak balik rumah terus melayang hilang ...ni la namanya belajar kalau xda keje assignment memang xsah...pape pun belajar kena utamakan ..kalau tak,, apa guna parent hantar belajar kalau xnak gunakan peluang tu sebaik mungkin..peluang xkan datang dua kali ..selagi boleh menuntut ilmu ,, tuntut laa banyak2..selagi hidup ni jangan lepaskan peluang untuk berilmu..tapi bila berilmu tu jangan la sombong pulak.. hmm panjang pulak bebel ..sebenarnyaa sis nak share apa yang sis belajar about the subject of information technology..sis baru habis belajar chapter dua..so, nak share la sikit nga awak2..


CHAPTER 2:IDENTIFYING COMPETITIVE                                ADVANTAGES



To survive and thrive an organization must create a competitive advantage
  • Competitive advantage -a product or service that an organization's customer place a greater value on than similar offerings from a competitor.
  • First-mover advantage- occurs when an organization can significantly impact its market share by being first to market with a competitive advantage.
Organizations watch their competition through environmental scanning
  • Environmental scanning- the acquisition and analysis of events and trends in the environment external to an organization.
Three common tools used in industry to analyze and develop competitive advantages include:
  • Porter's Five Forces Model
  • Porter's three generic strategies 
  • Value chains

  • BUYER POWER                                                                                                                               

  Buyer power is low when they have few choices, and high when they've many choices. In order words, when they have many choices their power to purchase is high and when they are lack of choices, their power to purchase is low. For example ,if you are as a buyer and you've many choices, you will get to choose the products that is convenience and suits to yourself . But, if you are lack of choices, you will have no other options so that you will buy the products although it expensive.

2 ways to reduce buyer power through loyalty program. 

a)     Loyalty Program
     Rewards customers based on the amount of business they do with a particular organization.

b)    Switching Cost
     Cost that can make customer refused to change or switch to another product or service.


  • SUPPLIER POWER




Supplier power is high when buyers have few choices of whom to buy and low when their choices are many. 

Business to business (B2B) marketplace - Internet-based service that brings together many buyers and sellers.

2 types of B2B:

  1. Private exchange - buyers open its needs and open bidding to any supplier who would care to bid with a low price.
  2. Reverse auction - increasing lower bids are solicited from organizations willing to supply the desired service or product at an increasingly lower price.

just a story..



Haa mmg sejak akhir2 ni sis mereput je kat library...maklum laa da nak cuti tak lama lagi mmg blambak laa assgnment sis...tolong laaa nak cpat2 habis bnda ni rsanya dah x snggup ..sepatutnyaa  msa diluangkan dgan rumet dahh kna korbankan sbb assgnmt..cemana nak jalinkan ukhuwah dgan rumet..hmm harap lpas naik cuti nii sis lebih cekal dan lbih redha laa ..minggu ni mmg otak melayang nak balik rumahh dahh ..excited lebih bila cuti mklum laa dduk jauh nga family .. sape xrindu fmly . kadang2 jealous gak nga org lain yg slalu balik ..but i know ada hikmah duk jauh nga fmily..at least sis dapat brdikari dan xterlalu brgantung nga mak dan abah ..masa duk jauh macam nii laa kita belajar hidup sorang2 xda sorang pun fmly kita yg ada dengan kita.....xsuka sis susahkn parent .. bagi sis ckup laa parent penat cari rezeki untuk kita tapi jangan bbankan diorg dgan masalah kita yg xseberapa nii..mana boleh settle sndiri ,settlekn sndiri ..jangan manja sangat cuba berdikari ..it just a little advice nak kata diri sndiri perfect pun memang ada laa cacat cela tak smpurna tuu , tapi bnda baik kalau kita share kita jugak yang akan dapat manfaat ...

Tutorial Chapter 1

hello dear blogger, what's up everyone ? i hope u're hepy2 laa...kita ni baru lagi kat dunia blog ..masih baby lagi baru nak merangkak masuk dalam dunia blog ni....ni pun sebab terpaksa untuk assignment subjek information technology in business , maklum laa dak2 bisnes ...hmmm korang nak tau tak sis nii macam nak gugur rambut buat blog ...berjam2 ngadap laptop ..tu pun nasib baik ada yang nolong duk sebelah ni haa..thanks sangat kepada yang setia menemani ...lenguh jugak duduk lama2 dah laa kna share krusi . adoii tapi demi assgnment sis tabah mengharunginya..korang nak tau tak first time sis tengok lecturer subjek nii jntung sis bagai nak jatuh ke lantai meremang bulu roma bila bertentang mata dengan dia..muka susah nak senyum bhaii . tapi bila dia da start communicate baru la sis nmpak aura kebaikan dia tu . sebenarnya muka dia jee susah nak senyum nmpak macam garang ..tapi bila senyum perhh muka manis macam teh o ais limau ..tapi still ada masam2 sikit.hahah.

ok so guys let's move to the real topic . Praise to be Allah because we already finished chapter one titled Business Driven Technology. Did you know what is information technology? can you kindly differentiate between information technology and technology? Overall i can explain to you what is the meaning between technology and information technology .

 Technology is more to gadget such as computer, mobile phone, television and etc meanwhile information technology is something that use the technology to manage and to process the information such as, the apps, android, software, and ios. Information technology is an important enabler of business success and innovation.






Business functions receiving the greatest benefits from Information Technology (IT) :


Information Technology Basic 

Data : raw facts that cannot describe its meaning.
    Information data that converted into meaningful and useful info.
      Business Intelligence : application that used to support decision  making.
        IT Resources people use IT to work with information

                IT Culture 

          • Information Functional Culture is employees use the info of exercising influence or power over others.
          • Information Sharing Culture is employees across dept. trust each other to share information.
          • Information Inquiring Culture is employees across dept. search for info to better understand the future trend.
          • Information Discovery Culture is employees across dept. open to new insight about crisis and radical changes ways to create competitive advantages.
